Dante Da Parma and Erica Serio: A Logo Love Story

Dante and Erica are two dear friends of mine. We met at my first adult job where they also happened to fall in love with each other. At their request, I designed their wedding logo.

Moodboard

Erica’s wedding mood board included a selection of colors and typeface choices. I designed the logo keeping in mind Erica, as a creative herself, would design her own invites and favors. This logo had to be flexible for various contexts.

Color Palette

Typefaces Used

Raleway SemiBold Small Caps (from Moodboard)
Alkaline Heavy All Caps
(chosen separately to be used and edited for logo)

Client Questionnaire

To ensure I understood their vision, the couple answered a mini version of my client onboarding document.
  • Where will this logo live? (e.g. wedding site, save the dates, etc.)
  • Do you know what kind of logo you want? (logotype, logomark, combo?)
  • What are a few words to describe your relationship?
  • If you and your partner were brands, what would they be?
  • Do you prefer a classic vibe or something a little more quirky/avant-garde?
  • Are there any no-no’s or conversly, must-haves I need to know?

Inspiration

Their answers and some inspo images helped solidify our creative direction.

Final Logos

Red Wave, Green Wave, Red Simple, Green Simple. Wave acts as primary logo while we use Simple for visually busier wedding materials.

Logo Animation

A walk up the aisle and a definitive “I do!” inspired the flowing movement of the wavy lines combined with the appearance of initials.
